GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Marketing and Development Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing all marketing and fundraising strategies in coordination with the Chief Marketing & Development Officer to expand philanthropic support and increase public awareness. The Director along with the Chief Marketing & Development Officer establish and execute the organization’s strategic fundraising agenda to achieve and exceed its revenue goals through individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundation support, special events and grant opportunities. The Director cultivates relationships that increase CFR’s visibility, community presence, and financial resources throughout Arizona while growing and diversifying CFR’s donor base. This position oversees CFR’s brand identity and leads integrated marketing communication strategies that promote awareness of CFR’s programs and services statewide.
The Director requires extensive travel to CFR sites throughout Arizona to engage with staff, community partners, donors, and stakeholders while ensuring consistent brand representation and effective communication across all locations. *Please initial that you have read this statement_______.
In addition, the Director manages, mentors, and supports a collaborative marketing and development team focused on advancing CFR’s strategic priorities, achieving fundraising and communication goals.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Assist Chief Marketing & Development Officer in the development and implementation of a comprehensive fund development strategy with targeted goals, methods, quantifiable outcomes and timelines which will achieve annual budgets.
• Supervise, mentor, and support development and marketing team members to foster individual growth and ensure the successful achievement of goals.
• Create and execute an inclusive marketing plan covering agency wide events, media relations, press releases, social networking, Annual Report, agency website, newsletters, and branding.
• Research and pursue partnerships and strategic alliances that will extend the organization's brand in the community and increase avenues of support.
• Assist Chief Marketing & Development Officer -Define, develop and deliver results-oriented major gifts and planned giving programs which support agency revenues.
• Oversee the agency website, and marketing materials, supporting fund development, marketing, programs and agency goals.
• Identify, research, screen, cultivate, solicit and steward individual prospects and donors.
• Assist Chief Marketing & Development Officer to implement targeted ongoing strategies to cultivate donors to higher giving levels.
• Ensure that all donors receive regular, timely, and informative reports regarding the achievement enabled by their giving.
• Oversee and promote special events throughout the state to include community events, activities, and conferences.
• Prepare timely reports that accurately reflect the status of the agency's marketing and fundraising efforts.
• Regularly reconcile development efforts with financial data prepared by the agency's finance team.
• Participate in the agency’s annual budgeting process, making revenue and expense projections for the coming year/s.
• Market Research – Assists Chief Marketing & Development Officer and internal Data and Impact Department to identify audience needs, competitor analysis, and adjusting strategies as needed.
• Brand Management – Ensure consistency in messaging, visuals and tone across all platforms.
• Event Promotion – Assists with creating campaigns for fundraising events and community outreach
• Monitor annual fund development and marketing budgets.
• Attend and participate in general staff, management, board and committee meetings as required.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree with demonstrated success in nonprofit marketing, outreach, social media and website management.
• Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification preferred.
• Ability to construct and implement annual strategic marketing and development plans.
• Excellent interpersonal, public speaking and writing skills.
• Ability to interact with a variety of donors, volunteers, peers and staff.
• Travel throughout the state required, in order to serve all CFR programs in Arizona.
• Some evening and weekend work
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, canva, Metricool and donor database management experience required.
• High energy, outgoing, team player with a passion for Child & Family Resources’ mission.
• Supervisory experience including coaching, mentoring and performance management.
• Sensitive to cultural diversity issues, including age, ethnicity, and lifestyle.
• Commitment to continuous professional development through participation in professional fundraising organizations and through attendance at fundraising seminars/conferences.
• Ability to problem solve, interpret instructions from diverse individuals, and recommend solutions.
• Commitment to adhere to the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) standards and ethics.
• Strong organization skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Comply with all agency and program policies and procedures including confidentiality, employee conduct, computer usage and dress code.
• Meet program/department’s performance and productivity standards.
• Attend required agency and program/department meetings and activities.
• Follow and model CFR’s core values.
• Participate in PQI initiatives.
• Must be eligible and able to obtain a Level one fingerprint card.
• Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license, Arizona vehicle registration, and meet agency and Arizona liability insurance requirements.
